SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position
of the Senior Analyst – APO Demand Planning to be located in Denver, CO. This position is responsible
for requirements definition, problem solving, user interfaces, configuration, testing, and application
support of SAP’s APO-DP module. This position will have a key role in the implementation of SAP to 43
Johns Manville plant locations globally. The lead analyst is responsible for supporting the SAP APO-DP
module, CIF, SAP-ECC through the full development life cycle including possible interfaces to legacy
manufacturing business systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will Responsible for configuring APO-DP module of new system.
- Requirements gathering, proposal review, schedule development and tracking.
- Facilitate coordination between IT departments in support of business objectives.
- Independently escalate and direct resolution of issues that impede planned strategic progress.
- Work with end users to determine business needs/requirements for new/enhanced systems or applications, as well as identifying decommissioning opportunities.
- Define systems solutions to aid in achieving of business goals.
- Serve as a catalyst for resolving client business problems through information systems.
- Assist in the development of requirements, cost benefit analysis, and ensure that required capital projects are documented.
- Demonstrate and ensure a strong customer service commitment within the organization.
- Initiate communication as necessary to ensure clear understanding of business issues, project status, etc.
- Continue to build professional business, and technical skills through practice, training, and education.
- Identify, champion, and implement enterprise wide solutions as well as best business practices with the goal of achieving processes considered "best in class".
- Evaluate system and user requirements, develop strategies and project plans to address those requirements.
- Simplify and standardize business processes and IT department solutions.
- Analyze the necessity for system enhancements and implement those enhancements.
- Review and prioritize projects and enhancements on an ongoing basis.
- Coordinate and provide impact analysis on new projects.
- Participate in the development of long range plans and goals.
- Provide on-going functional support for end users in both SAP and legacy systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience with significant IT/IS coursework or training.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience implementing SAP APO-DP for manufacturing / production planning.
- Experience configuring SAP’s APO-DP module on at least one full-life-cycle
- Demonstrated experience implementing best business practices throughout the organization.
- Experience configuring DP to SNP forecast release and period split functionality.
- Breadth and depth with actual "hands-on" manufacturing experience.
- Experience in characteristic based planning.
- Proficient in Demand Planning design and configuration.
- Ability to configure planning books, object structures.
- Ability to create new key figures, alerts, macros, planning profiles, selection profiles.
- Knowledge of Demand Planning BOMS.
- Clear understanding of APO production planning
- Clear understanding of APO concepts such transportation lanes, product master, PDS's, PIR integration
- Additional desirable planning knowledge include subcontracting, block planning, characteristics dependent planning and multi-resource planning
- Knowledge of APO BADI's
- Provide SAP configuration expertise by working with the business process specialists and document the functional expertise and knowledge
- Develop master data standards and structure
- Develop and document as-is/to-be business processes, configuration scripts, and other associated technical specifications from end user requirements
- Develop interface requirements
- Identify security requirements and validate the system roles and process controls
- Assist in the facilitation of end user training and system documentation
- Interface with end users to ensure system functionality is effectively enabling business processes
- Must be effective in meeting with users and management to define complex business requirements in sufficient detail to determine the appropriate SAP configuration or development required, or to document why the requirement cannot be satisfied by an SAP-based solution.
- Develop the process scenarios and test scripts
- APO BI related objects such as cubes, transfer rules, transfer structures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with others efficiently and effectively in an ad-hoc environment
- Travel up to 25% (higher during implementation)
- Other desired APO skill sets and knowledge: PP/DS, GATP, CTM, Optimizer, ECC BOM’s, Routes and Production Versions., ECC PP/MM, PPMs and PDSs , CIF, Live Cache
APICS Certification a plus
